GoTyme Bank Launches ‘PH Stocks’ for In-App PSE Investing

Digital bank GoTyme Bank has officially rolled out “PH Stocks,” a new feature that allows its users to invest directly in companies listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) through its mobile application.

Powered by SEC-licensed broker-dealer DragonFi Securities Inc. (DSI), the integration aims to simplify the investment process by eliminating the need for users to open separate accounts or switch between different trading platforms. Users can fund their stock investments instantly using their existing GoTyme Bank balances and withdraw trading proceeds directly within the same app. (Read More: GoTyme Drops TIN Requirement for Activating GoCrypto, Gold Investing on Its App)

GoTyme stated that the feature is primarily designed to support long-term investing and wealth-building through dividends, catering specifically to everyday Filipinos transitioning from saving to investing rather than short-term trading.

“GoTyme Bank’s mission has always been to remove friction from finance and build confidence for new investors,” said Nate Clarke, CEO of GoTyme Bank.

Jon Lim, CEO of DragonFi Securities, added that the partnership represents a major step toward making investing “accessible, transparent, and embedded into the daily lives of Filipinos”.

Trading Mechanics and Fees

To access the feature, users must complete a quick suitability test to gauge their investment readiness and activate their brokerage accounts by providing their email and Tax Identification Number (TIN). Once activated, users can browse available companies, study stock performance, and purchase full or odd lots directly within the interface.

Stock orders placed on the platform are executed during standard PSE market hours, specifically from 9:30 AM to 12:00 NN, and 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

The platform applies standard Philippine trading fees, which are displayed transparently before a trade is confirmed.

  • When buying shares: Users are charged a 0.25% commission on the gross trade amount, a 12% Value-Added Tax (VAT) on the commission, a 0.005% PSE fee, and a 0.01% SCCP fee.
  • When selling shares: A 0.1% sales tax on the gross trade amount is added to the standard buying fees.

Proceeds from sold shares can be formally withdrawn after two days, though the cleared amount can be immediately utilized to purchase other shares within the app.

GoTyme Bank and DragonFi Securities also issued standard regulatory disclosures, noting that stock investments are subject to market volatility, returns are not guaranteed, and these specific investment products are not insured by the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC).
