BCRemit, an online money transfer service licensed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), announced that it has processed over $600 million in total volume across one million transactions.

Following this milestone, the fintech firm revealed ambitious plans to scale its operations beyond its core base of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), expanding its reach to 23 other countries.

Plan #1: Cross-Border Payment Solutions to More Filipinos

In a media statement sent to BitPinas, BCRemit outlined its strategy to launch a new suite of payment solutions tailored for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firms, and freelancers.

Moving beyond the Filipino diaspora, the company aims to capture other major migrant communities, specifically targeting the India, Mexico, and China corridors.

“Our mission has always been to show that Filipino-led innovation can offer transformative solutions to the world. By expanding our services beyond our core community, we aim to serve as a global financial partner built on Filipino values, ready to serve the world’s most dynamic economies.”

Plan #2: QR Payment Collection

Citing BSP’s report that cash remittances reached $2.92 billion in November 2025 alone, BCRemit plans to capture a larger share of this market by launching a QR-payment collection feature for outbound remittances later this year.

This feature builds on the company’s strategic partnership with locally licensed crypto exchange Coins.ph.

Plan #3: Evolve as an All-in-One Financial Platform

BCRemit’s broader vision is to transition from a pure remittance provider to a holistic financial platform. Future product offerings include:

  • Stablecoin wallets
  • Investment products
  • Loans

By leveraging blockchain technology and its partnership with Circle (issuer of USDC), the company states it has reduced transaction costs to approximately 1%, significantly lower than the global remittance average of 6.4%.

“We saw firsthand the impact of financial delays on our own family growing up, and that drives our commitment to innovation today. We understand that for our customers, remittances are not just transactions; they’re a lifeline. As we expand, we remain focused on creating a trusted financial gateway that serves every Filipino from around the world.”

Gio Calma, Co-Founder and Director, BCRemit

What is BCRemit?

Founded by the father-and-son duo Oliver and Gio Calma, BCRemit was born out of the younger Calma’s personal frustrations with the delays of traditional remittance centers while working overseas.

It operates as an online-only remittance platform (no physical branches), offering 24/7 customer service to ensure support is available whenever users need it.
